I Met My Best Friend - 1396 Words

For every person that exists, there is at least one other person with whom they will laugh with, love with, and live life with. These are the people who will support the decisions you make, encourage you to keep going after massive failures and love you despite all your flaws. We cherish the relationships we build and the friendships we have because without friends, we would be alone. I met my best friend when I was eleven-years-old. Our teacher forced us to sit next to each other after the first few days of school. We didn’t talk to each other much because we both had our own friends. However, one day, we decided to each lunch together and we started hanging out more and more. Soon, we became inseparable. People could tell that we were best friends by the way we acted around each other. Much like my best friend and I, the devotion and loyalty between two friends are shown through real life interactions. However, written words can also show how much two friends care for one an other. Text messages and wedding speeches may seem to have no connection to each other but both genres reveal how close two people are. A wedding speech is usually given by the maid-of-honor and the best man. These two positions hold special meaning because it is meant to be given by someone whom the bride and groom cherish and love. To be given the position of maid-of-honor or best man already shows how much love and respect the bride or groom has for their friend. Unhappy Cows †Short Essay Free Essays

The California dairy Industry would like us, the consumers, to believe that their dairy cows In some mysterious way are â€Å"happy cows†. They literally use this term, thus insinuating that for some reason or another, milk from California is better. Or, perhaps they are trying to convince us that cows in other states are too â€Å"sad† to produce quality milk. We will write a custom essay sample on Unhappy Cows – Short Essay or any similar topic only for you Order Now However, I say this campaign is nothing but a big pile of manure. Pun intended. I have found no research supporting the claim that California cows are â€Å"happy sows†. At least, no happier than normal. In fact, Californians practices are quite the same If not Identical to any other states. It Is very sad that they use a campaign of hope and happiness when in all reality their dairy cows are mistreated just like the rest. Dairy cows endure annual cycles of artificial insemination, mechanized milking for 10 months out of each year, which includes 7 months out of the 9 months a cow may be pregnant. Cows both In California and around the nation are given hormones so hat they might produce more milk. This active and rigorous cycle overburdens the cows, thus only making them useful as dairy cows for two years. These particular cows are usually slaughtered at four years old. Dairy cows are expected to produce one calf per year per cow according to the U. S. Department of Agriculture fact sheet. Just imagine what kind of strain this must be on the animal! This would be comparative to a human running or jogging 6 hours a day, every day for a year while pregnant! Does that sound Like a happy cow to oh? Most female dairy calves are eventually put onto the milking line while most of the male calves are found to be useless and are often sold into the veal industry. Yes folks, even the calves from the â€Å"happy’ California cows are sold to these kinds of industries. Hundreds of thousands of little baby calves are shoved into cages so small they can’t so much as turn around until they are roughly 12 to 14 months old and then they are slaughtered for their meat; the meat that has gone tender after so many months of little to no activity. California is essentially capitalizing on American citizens ignorance of what is happening right in front of them. If people of this country would bother to read the facts, I doubt they would be supporting this ridiculous â€Å"happy cow’ business. Perhaps Californians campaign should be a bit more realistic, such as the way we treat our cows will make your milk curdle’. â€Å"Farm Bill : Laws and Regulations : National Agricultural Library. † Information Centers : National Agricultural Library. Daycare Centers in the Development of the Children

Question: Describe about Daycare Centers in the Development of the Children? Answer: Day care or childcare is considered as the care of children during daytime. Today, day care is a typical commercial service as most of the parents are engaging themselves in work. In the United Kingdom, the service is known as Child Care, crche in New Zealand and Ireland. Although in most of the countries, especially in the United Kingdom the children are taken care by the nanny, grandparents or by extended family, today the society is depending more on the Day Care Services, which offers better education, discipline and child development even preschool education (Gunnar et al., 2010). The educational system in Day Care System is helpful to develop different characteristics among the children. Mainly four types of developments are identified among the children, such as physical development, cognitive development, emotional development and psychosocial development. The physical development of a child indicates the physical growth of a child. In Child Care, teachers can take several steps in the development of the physical growth. Teachers in day care can teach children about the physical education and engage them to play in playgrounds (Herbst Tekin, 2010). In the playground, children will be able to play in different rides, which is helpful to develop their muscle strength. Promotion of football and other outdoor games is also helpful in the physical development of the children as well as building team spirit. From day care, a 3-year-old toddler can learn how to take care of themselves, how to play in outdoors, how to climb. Run and be a part of a team. Cognitive development of a child is considered as the ability of a child to understand the world (Phillips Lowenstein, 2011). The thinking procedure of a child is different from the adults; therefore, the teachers in the day care need to involve children in several activities that influence their thinking and learning styles. Teachers should provide new materials such as drawing sets, cooking sets, puzzle box as well as expose them to new "experiences", such as making sand art, clay figures, etc. From day care, a 3-year-old toddler can learn how to keep pace with the changing environment and make new friends. It is observed that the children, especially the toddlers, show a different state of social and emotional development. Most of the toddlers think that the world revolves around them. However, the teachers in day care involve them into team games or engage them with each other in such a way that develops their emotional state (Gunnar et al., 2010). From day care, a 3-year-old toddler can learn how to share emotion and thoughts with each other. In day care system, the teacher can engage the children to play together and work together in a same project (making sand art, color matching games, etc.) in order to develop their psychosocial activities. In day care, the teacher provides a friendly environment where the children can talk with each other and share their ideas (Vandell et al., 2010). It is found that when a 3-year-old toddler graduated from the day care they showed more helpful than the others did. Today, it is observed that the parents are too busy in their works to take care of their children. However, daycare systems proved as fruitful not only to take care of the children but also in their physical, cognitive, emotional and psychosocial development. Reference Gunnar, M.
